Hi everyone
Just a short message from me today.
Some are busy studying already for mocks/O's, others still have yet to develop a schedule to follow for revision. You have either 8 or 9 subjects so how do you handle it?
For English, there is no such thing (at this level anyway) as STUDYING. To improve your English, you have to increase your word power and grammar. Reading novels, the newspaper, internet news, or even watching TV (proper programmes like Discovery or Nat Geo) can help with this. Problem is staring at a screen too long really does zap your brain cells and you can come away with a "duuuuuhhhh" kinda feeling, so limit your screen time to about half an hour a day (I know.. tough right?).
For BM... studying is mostly on techniques for writing ringkasan/rumusan/karangan, memorising bahasa Klasik or peribahasa/simpulan bahasa... We had jawi in my time so that was an extra :P
Ok for the D Maths and A Maths... practice makes perfect.. go nuts on the PYP! Practice til your first language is numbers haha!
For the sciences, as I mentioned to you in class, IT IS TOO LATE TO DO REVISION BY READING. Yes, you have left it too late, but don't panic yet. You can still catch up. Work on PAPER 1, you will find that the more you do the higher your grade average gets.
Remember for BIO 1 we're aiming for 35 and above :) Plus it's your last paper for the entire exam... it better be the BEST! :)
For Paper 2, again practice makes perfect. I always say this now, closer to exams... the questions may change, but the answers remain the same... fundamental science concepts DO NOT CHANGE!
For Paper 3, just get your basics right. For Bio, make sure you DRAW WELL. All aspiring artists, pls leave your talents at home! :) Remember about label lines, magnification, and draw as big as you can! above 6 cm usually! READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS before you start (if you start your Bio practical by touching some apparatus/specimen before reading your paper, you've already set yourself up for failure!!)
So much for being a "short" post. Guys, I've got a week left in school... Do your papers, come to me for help, arrange time with me after school if you need it.... that's what your teachers are for... to help you do better- don't expect the teacher go to you (after all, I've sat for my O's :P )
Happy studying (and no, no one has ever died from studying ok?)
